On Jan. 8 and 9, Shen Yun Performing Arts took audiences on a journey to ancient China in Torino, Italy. Audience members praised their artistry and said the performance gave them a pleasant feeling.
“An overall pleasant and relaxing feeling, because it’s a soft, flowing, peaceful dance,” said Luciano Lana, a business owner.
“It enveloped us in a world of tranquility and inwardness that I didn’t think you could have with dance,” said Luisa Napoli, an entrepreneur. “These twirls, these colors, this grace that emanated from the movements really drew me in and really gave a sense of peace and spirituality.”
“Just these colors, this cheerfulness and these scenes that seem real. You can understand everything despite not being spoken,” said Marta Vannini, a lawyer.
“They’re all really good, from the first program to the last they moved in unison, they really have great coordination and you can see that there is a lot of work behind it. Also the work that’s with the back panel between interfaces is also very nice,” said Marco Bono, a family business owner.
Through classical Chinese dance and music, Shen Yun’s performance tells of ancient Chinese culture, which finds its inspiration in the divine. A culture that the Chinese Communist Party has systematically tried to uproot after taking over the country in 1949. Audience members appreciated Shen Yun’s efforts and took note of a deeper message.
“Shen Yun can really stir the consciences, to give hope. And just with beauty and harmony, it calls forth this nostalgia. Which is in every person, even if it is stifled by the media and these messages that go against the law of nature and also against the divine laws,” said Cristina Siccardi, a journalist and writer.
“It’s absolutely a message of hope for everyone and it’s a very beautiful message that deeply affected us. Absolutely. So we are very happy with this message, thank you,” said René-Pierre Brouant, a business owner.
“Keep going around the world, taking your enthusiasm, your ability and your fantastic culture around,” said Filippo Buzzi, an aerospace engineer.
“An artistic preparation, choreography, moving in unison. There’s a remarkable preparation behind it. Remarkable and really beautiful, original and beautiful,” said Pierluigi Franco, a doctor.
Shen Yun will continue to perform in Torino, Italy, until Jan. 12.
