The audience at London’s Eventim Apollo on Jan. 9 was excited to see the show they had heard so much about.
“I’m so pleased to enjoy the show tonight because I’ve been hearing about the show for years, and with outstanding reviews!” said business owner Connie Kang.
Sergio Laura, former managing director of an Upstream Oil & Gas company, expressed his thoughts in Chinese.
“Really nice, very good,” he said.
Shen Yun brings authentic Chinese culture to life through song, music, and dance.
“It came through in a godly way, very divine … It puts everything into perspective when you associate something human to something above,” said Mr. Laura.
Ciinderella Balthazar, a singer and songwriter, was impressed by the positivity of the stories.
“It’s interesting to see that every culture has their own tales, and at the end of the tale we have a moral … I feel a lot of the stories today were about positivity … be good, be kind.”
Shen Yun brings to the stage traditional values in stories and legends from ancient Chinese civilization. Mr. Laura expressed regret that some of those values have diminished or been lost in the present day.
“We know that those values were valid in China but they got destroyed by the local situation,” he said.
Ms. Kang brought her daughter to learn about authentic Chinese civilization.
“The performance is so powerful, and people would love to know more about Chinese history with a show like Shen Yun. It’s fantastic!”
Shen Yun performances continue in London this weekend. Upcoming shows include theaters in Manchester, Oxford, and Edinburgh as part of its 2025 UK tour.
