Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is preparing to step down, with a new leader of the Liberal Democratic Party to be selected next month.

To find out more, NTD spoke to retired Marine Col. Grant Newsham, a senior fellow at the Center for Security Policy and the author of “When China Attacks: A Warning to America.” He says that the next Japanese leader needs to boost the country’s defense capabilities in order to be a more useful regional ally to the United States.
