President-elect Donald Trump’s defamation case against ABC News has resulted in a $15 million settlement. Trump had sued the organization after host George Stephanopoulos said on air that Trump was “found liable for rape” by a federal jury. The jury had found Trump liable for sexually abusing columnist E. Jean Carroll but rejected her claim that Trump raped her. NTD speaks to John Malcolm, vice president of the Heritage Foundation’s Institute for Constitutional Government and director of the Meese Center for Legal and Judicial Studies, who says it was wise for ABC to settle in that they can avoid having any potentially harmful evidence surface upon discovery at the deposition that was set to take place soon.
