After President-elect Donald Trump announced his plan to impose tariffs on Mexico over securing the border, he said he had a “wonderful conversation” with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum—a call she, in turn, said was “excellent.” Sheinbaum said the two countries will have a good relationship, and that there won’t be a tariff war. She also explained Mexico’s strategy for addressing illegal immigration.
