NTD spoke to war correspondent Michael Yon, a former special forces operator, to provide updates on the situation on the Darien gap migrant route—and what he identifies as the underreporting of crossings at the Southern border.
Mr. Yon said the number of “encounters” at the Southern border is misleading. “Those are intentionally obfuscated by the Department of Homeland Security,” he said. “The numbers that they’re releasing do not include the gotaways, they don’t include the undetected, they don’t include the fly-ins.”
“I guarantee those numbers are—at a bare minimum—20,000 per day.”
