Shen Yun Performing Arts concluded its performance in Nishinomiya, Japan, on Jan. 7, leaving audience members captivated. The artistry on display was met with warm applause.
“It was wonderful. It was so much fun, and the dance matched the vivid images and made me feel like I was on a great adventure and a fun journey,” said Noboru Ouka, a former performer at OSK Opera Japan.
Yamato Eunae, a project producer, said, “I am feeling really refreshed right now. I feel as if my soul, or rather my heart, has been softly expanded from deep inside.”
Stariko Nakamoto, a soprano opera singer, said, “I wondered how much training it takes to be able to dance such a wonderful dance, and the [animated] background was just beautiful, and the switching between [animated] people and real people was always very interesting and amazing, and the timing was also amazing.”
Shen Yun draws its inspiration from China’s 5,000 years of civilization and virtues from before communism, a culture that was believed to find its roots in the Divine. Theatergoers expressed their appreciation for the company’s efforts.
“The level of the dancers is top level. That’s what everyone thinks, and I don’t think I’m alone. But there are many scenes that go to the Heavenly realm, echoed by the music, and also the graphics, which are used in a very diverse way,” said Emi Nakae, an artist.
“The traditions that have been built up are very important, and I want to support them,” said Noboru Ouka. “I think it should be protected with absolute care.”
“It was just magnificent, and every scene was amazing no matter how you cut it, and I was so impressed by the top-tier skill and excellence of all the performers, including all the staff members,” said Ms. Nakamoto.
Ms. Eunae said that Shen Yun “was truly wonderful. The music was great and everyone’s smiling faces and natural beauty was consistent and detailed throughout the entire performance.”
Shen Yun will be performing in Sakai, Japan, on Jan. 10 and Jan. 11.
