Shen Yun Performing Arts debuted in Toulouse, France, on Jan. 10, captivating the art-rich city with a sold-out run. All five shows in Toulouse sold out two months in advance. The heightened audience anticipation drew coverage from French mainstream media a day before the performance. Attendees praised Shen Yun’s beauty and uplifting energy.
Jean-Pierre Pulles, a managing director, said: “It’s an absolutely magnificent show, brimming with energy, and it conveys that energy. It was truly a joy to be here tonight.”
Michel Galant, a former company director, said: “There’s a lot of emotion, a lot of energy. The performers bring lots of energy and it’s truly fascinating.”
Sylvia Cœurdacier de Gesnes, a payment expert, said: “We stare with our mouths open, just in awe.”
Mario Formica, a managing director, remarked: “Beauty. It’s the beauty that moves me. I find it very spectacular. I find it very refined, very delicate. I feel, deep in my soul, the joy of witnessing this beauty.”
Pradel Serge, a carpenter, said: “It’s mind-blowing. It’s truly beautiful. I congratulate you. Truly, it’s sublime. I say again that there are no words to describe it, because in this cruel world, it’s such a joy to see something so lovely.”
Ernest Lopes, a managing director, noted: “The show is fabulous. I feel that it carries a sense of spirituality, a lot of grace, and I also found that there is a great deal of heavenly-bestowed talent in this performance. For me, the overwhelming feeling is one of well-being, especially with the positive ending every time. I believe this should be shared all over the world, and I think it would lead to fewer wars and fewer of the negative things we see. The kindness and benevolence of this show make you feel completely enveloped in positivity.”
Audiences celebrated Shen Yun for bringing beauty and cherished values to the world despite continued obstruction by the Chinese Communist Party. They say they felt transformed after seeing the show.
“What is regrettable is that the current regime prevents this show from being performed there, even though it is such a fabulous production. What I find truly remarkable is your ability to present it all over the world without being hindered by this authoritarian system that stops you from showcasing the talent of this show,” observed Mr. Lopes.
“I’d say it’s about joy, happiness, beautiful brotherhood, and about love. It brings all that’s missing right now,” Mr. Serge.
“It’d be great if we gave more thought to this kindness, precisely because, I believe, we’re a bit too individualistic at the moment,” said Ms. Cœurdacier de Gesnes.
“Perhaps it can bring you a certain revolution, with change, perhaps with new generations,
while preserving China’s heritage,” said Mr. Galant.
“I think a lot of people, a lot of leaders, should watch it, because in the end, we’re all the same. We each have our own beliefs, but ultimately this benevolence has to be everywhere, and if it’s everywhere, it avoids all the hatred and violence we see today. Thanks to this kind of show, we come out transformed, positive. You come out of it completely changed, and that’s fabulous, really. I invite everyone to see,” added Mr. Lopes.
