NTD’s 6th International Figure Painting Competition is a delight to behold, with 60 award-winning oil paintings by over 50 artists from more than 20 countries at the finalists’ exhibition.
The competition seeks to use this art form to foster traditional values and positive ideals, such as righteousness, beauty, and compassion. Art-lovers can view the paintings at the Salmagundi Club in Manhattan on Friday, Jan. 19, from 1–6 p.m. The exhibition is open to the public and free of charge.
“I love realist art. And that’s what I came here for, and I wasn’t disappointed,” said Salmagundi Club member, John Hanke. “All the details—incredible, on just about all of them.
“I think great art has a lot of detail,” he said. “And because there are people [in the paintings], there’s a lot of emotion that gets captured by that.”
