President-elect Trump announced on Truth Social that he plans to impose a 25% tariff on all imports from Mexico and Canada as one of his first executive actions. He stated the tariffs will remain until both nations curb illegal immigration and drug trafficking, particularly fentanyl. Trump also proposed an additional 10% tariff on imports from China if the country fails to stop fentanyl from entering the U.S.
