Melanie Sawyer was born in the Cotswolds of England, where she spent much of her childhood in the countryside. She later signed with a modeling agency in London, where she became what some referred to as “the face of ’88.” Eventually, Melanie settled in New York City, started a family, and transitioned to working behind the scenes as a baby wrangler on children’s fashion shoots across the country for some 24 years.
Melanie volunteers for many charities: in 2013, she received the Certificate of Congressional Special Recognition for her work in the community. She now lives off-grid with her fiancé, and believes in sourcing as much of her food as possible directly from nature. In 2021, Melanie founded Thunderhawk Living History School, which teaches and reenacts at museums, schools, and historical locations on the Eastern Coast of the United States.
