Expert Warns of Potential Hotel-Stay Cleanliness Issues, Offer Tips for Good Hotel-Visit Hygiene

Experts say hotel guests should be aware of potential cleanliness issues involved in using beds and bathrooms that have been used by many other visitors previously.

According to Dr. Gavin Macgregor-Skinner, a senior director at the Worldwide Cleaning Industry Association (ISSA), some of the really unhygienic parts of hotels that visitors need to watch out for are bathrooms, underneath the bed, and the bed itself. He says visitors should avoid placing personal items such as clothes on the carpet, and that they shouldn’t put their suitcase on the bed to avoid bringing bed bugs home with them when they leave.
