US Research Foundation Cuts Ties With Huawei

The Optica Foundation’s CEO said recently that they will no longer accept funds from Huawei, adding that they are also returning all the money that Huawei donated from 2022 through this year. The U.S. government has repeatedly warned about the company’s close ties to the Chinese Communist Party and China’s military, calling it a “national security concern.”

In the meanwhile, several House Republicans introduced legislation aimed at restricting the United States from buying electric car batteries made by six Chinese manufacturers.

The bill, titled Decoupling from Foreign Adversarial Battery Dependence Act, was led by Rep. Carlos Gimenez (R-Fla.). It was also co-sponsored by Chairman of the House Select Committee on the CCP John Moolenaar.
