In a letter published on Sunday in France’s media outlets, Emmanuel Macron addressed the French people who will vote this weekend for a new Parliament, emphasizing the need for change in how the country is governed. He warned that France could face a civil war if the Nationalist party or the left-wing party wins the elections, accusing the National Rally, led by Marine Le Pen, and the new leftist coalition of pushing people towards civil war by reducing them to their religion or origin. National Rally spokesperson Julien Odoul dismissed Mr. Macron’s remarks as fearmongering, asserting that democracy and the French people’s vote must be respected.
