Shen Yun Performing Arts received praise for its performances in Cagliari, Italy, from Jan. 3 to 5. It left a deep impression on audiences.
“Very high level. Certainly you can see that they are professionals who do it well. Prepared artists certainly of great value,” said Giandomenico Sabiu, a lawyer.
Through classical Chinese dance and music, Shen Yun’s performance tells of ancient Chinese culture, which finds its inspiration in the divine.
“This company has really brought culture and history to Italy,” said Giovanni Chessa, a regional minister for tourism, artisanship, and commerce.
“And when you go back and try to introduce to new generations today, what was alive thousands of years ago, I think it’s a good thing,” Mr. Sabiu.
“The courage and the audacity and the determination with which this form of artistic and cultural representation continues to be carried throughout the world, despite the opposition of the Chinese dictatorial regime. A courage, boldness, and determination that, as a Westerner, can only meet with all my admiration, all my sympathy and solidarity for these extraordinary interpreters of ancient Chinese culture,” said Fabio Mura, a city officer.
Audience members also pointed to Shen Yun’s message of traditional values.
Luanna Fanni, a professional dancer herself, found the message she received from Shen Yun’s performance beautiful.
“The values that were expressed are very important in order to awaken the world today, especially the new generation. For those who have made sacrifices, we can see the message they are trying to send and it’s beautiful.”
“To see them combined with such a strong cultural message gives a completeness to the show,” said Giorgio Angius, Cagliari’s deputy mayor.
“Instead you learn respect, compassion, and tolerance,” said Mr. Chessa.
“I think they are the first ones to teach us respect and values.”
“Bravissimi. Nothing is better than this, bravissimi,” said Cagliari counselor Pierluigi Mannino.
