Shen Yun Performing Arts invited audiences in Buffalo, New York, to experience the world of ancient China at Shea’s Buffalo Theatre on March 23 and 24. Audience members said they felt mesmerized by the artistry.
Maureen Hickey, a ballroom dance teacher and the owner of MoDancing, LLC, said she could appreciate the beauty Shen Yun brought to the stage.
“Gorgeous, I love everything about it. The music, the choreography is amazing. The athleticism of the dancers, it’s just beautiful,” she said.
“The artistry, everything was very, very well put together. The orchestra, the music, the performance. It was very, very well done. Very nice,” said Wade Shaffer, owner of Shaffer Chiropractic. “It very much came alive and felt like I was transported into another world.”
“I thought the show was absolutely beautiful. It was so inspiring. The cinematography was wonderful. They’re so athletic and beautiful, it was just beautiful,” said Susan Abrams, who is an architect.
Through classical Chinese dance, music, and stories, Shen Yun aims to revive China’s 5,000-year-old traditions—rich in spiritual and artistic heritage. Audience members applauded Shen Yun’s efforts.
“I think that if the show Shen Yun can inspire more Chinese people to accept and promote their own culture and revive it, this would be wonderful,” said Ms. Abrams.
“It was a lifetime experience, and I wanted to experience this. It’s a serenity, it was so serene. I was in a different world,” said Gul Rahman, a pharmacist.
“Being inspirational, it did move me. It was great, it makes me want to watch another show like this. It was excellent,” said Andrew Kelschenvach, a kitchen designer.
“It’s amazing, they must work so hard all the time to keep up that effort. I love the synchronization and just everything. It’s such a fun show,” said Ms. Hickey.
Shen Yun’s 2024 world tour will continue through May this year.
