At a Senate Judiciary Committee executive business meeting on Thursday, Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) denounced Democrats’ attempt to issue subpoenas related to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. Mr. Kennedy listed a host of serious issues the United States is facing—such as high inflation, the border crisis, and wars in Ukraine and the Middle East—and said, “But what are we concentrating on? We have decided … to attack another branch of our government.” He then said that “the fundamental issue here” is “that there’s some people that don’t like the opinions being issued by the United States Supreme Court.”
