On Feb. 3, San Francisco filed a lawsuit against the city’s Board of Education and the Unified School District to reopen classrooms.

City Attorney Dennis Herrera alleged that the school board and district do not have a plan for in-person learning. He is not convinced by the statistics and their proclamations claiming that schools can’t be reopened safely.

None of the city’s 54,000 plus public school students have had in-person instruction for over 300 days, but private institutions have re-opened.
