Ukraine’s incursion into Russian territory in the Kursk region is the largest such attack since the war started, driving some 7 miles into Russian territory along a 25-mile wide front.

Aucoin said that while Russia has sent some specialized forces into the region to repel the attacks, Moscow has not taken the bait, and has refrained from stretching its forces too thin.
