How will the Biden administration and the new Congress handle issues of religious liberty? Legal defense lawyers discuss their hopes and concerns. During an online conference, a non-profit legal defense organization called the Pacific Justice Institute discussed the potential impacts that a change in presidential administration would have on religious liberty.
Brad Dacus, president of the Pacific Justice Institute, said: “There’s the Equality Act that already passed the House and Senate, good chance it would become law. The Do No Harm Act … these are things that are going to put burdens on Christian schools, churches, ministries, businesses, Christian businesses, to have to compromise their faith. It’s very, very serious.
“We’ve talked about this last year but we are preparing to defend these institutions against this clear attack on their fundamental first amendment rights to religious freedom, the right to gather and free speech,” Dacus said.
The organization currently has 11 offices in nine states and expects to grow to 20 states within the next few years.
