With around 150,000 signatures received every week, Rescue California, the campaign aiming at removing Governor Gavin Newsom from office, said it will garner 1.5 million signatures by this Wednesday.
Anne Dunsmore, Finance Director of Rescue California, also said the campaign has received 14,000 donations with a total of $2.5 million.
Dunsmore believes it shows how desperate Californians want to make a change.
During the pandemic, Newsom has been criticized for his visit to French Laundry against his own stay at home order, keeping key data away from the public that justifies his abrupt lifting of the stay at home order, and a recently revealed EDD unemployment benefit scam which may include up to $31 billion.
