Rapper Kodak Black was arrested at the U.S. border when he tried to re-enter the country from Canada. He was charged with possessing a weapon and marijuana, police said.

Kodak and two others attempted to enter the border at the Lewiston-Queenston International Bridge with a temporary California registration, on Wednesday, April 17, according to a press release from the New York State Police, obtained by Pitchfork.

Police said Kodak was driving a Cadillac Escalade when U.S. Customs agents at the border found marijuana on him. After further inspection of the vehicle, the officers discovered a Glock 9mm pistol. Everyone in the car denied ownership of the gun, police said.

Kodak was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and a misdemeanor possession of marijuana, according to the report.

Another car, a Porsche, traveling with Kodak’s team, was also stopped and searched. The driver of the Porsche, Jeantony Saintmelus, admitted to having two loaded handguns. Police also found a third gun in the trunk, as well as more marijuana.

A police source described one of the weapons as an “AK-style handgun with a 30-round magazine. It looks like an AK, but it’s a handgun,” according to TMZ.

Saintmelus was arrested for criminal possession of a weapon and marijuana. The other two passengers of the Porsche, Stetson President and Madarrow Smith, were both arrested for criminal possession of a weapon.

Kodak, along with everyone else in the cars, was booked into Niagara County Jail on a $20,000 cash bond or $40,000 bond, according to multiple reports.

However, while Kodak was detained at the border, fans were gathering at the House of Blues in Boston, where Kodak was scheduled to perform with Calboy, Sniper Gang, and 22Gz.

When Kodak didn’t show up and mysteriously canceled the tour last minute, fans erupted in fury. Police came to break up the fans gathered for the concert.

Large crowds of fans gathered outside the concert hall shouted angrily as police surrounded the area and closed all the streets, according to the Boston Herald.

At the time, no one knew why Kodak canceled the show, and even his team had no idea where he was or why he canceled the concert, according to TMZ.

One concertgoer, Jake Johnson, went to the House of Blues to see Kodak perform. Instead, he witnessed a brawl.

“Jaws broken, bloody, fists swinging,” he told the Boston Herald.

Video footage circulating online showed fans screaming expletives at the tour bus and fighting among themselves.

EMS also arrived on the scene and at least one person ended up being taken away in an ambulance, reported the Boston Herald.

The Boston Police Department also confirmed the fight at the concert hall.

Police arrived at a little after 8 p.m. where “officers observed a large group displaying generally unruly behavior as a result of a canceled show at the venue. The scene was cleared after about 30 minutes with the assistance of additional responding units,” according to a statement obtained by the Boston magazine.

Boston Police Department spokesman, Stephen McNulty, told Boston Magazine, “It could have been a lot worse. A lot of unhappy patrons, but it was resolved peacefully.”

Before news of Kodak’s arrest surfaced, the House of Blues issued a sincere apology to fans on Twitter for postponing the show “due to unforeseen circumstances.”
