Nations in the Pacific Islands region have accepted a security agreement put forward by Australia. As part of the agreement, Australia will allocate $400 million over five years to provide infrastructure and coordination among police departments.
This is a blow to the Chinese communist regime’s policy of establishing security agreements with nations across the region to gain leverage and exert its influence there.
NTD spoke to Antonio Graceffo, a China analyst and the author of “Red Alert: China’s Global Power and How it Threatens U.S. National Security.” He says these Pacific Island countries are wary of China and, in accepting the Australian deal, are asserting their desire to avoid becoming more indebted to the CCP and more controlled by it.
