Commuters heading into Manhattan next week should prepare to pay a $9 fee, if entering the grid south of Central Park. That’s because New York Gov. Kathy Hochul’s first-in-the-nation congestion pricing law goes into effect on Sunday, Jan. 5. It charges commuters for automobile travel in the city during peak hours. Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, the creator of this controversial law, is expressing skepticism toward it now. NTD’s Chris Beers has the story.
