Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, sat down for their first joint interview on Thursday. It was Harris’s first interview since President Joe Biden ended his reelection bid. She clarified some of her policy positions on border security and the Israel–Hamas war. She said that despite some shifts on certain positions, her values have not changed. Harris and former President Donald Trump will debate for the first time on ABC on Sept. 10.
Trump campaigned in Wisconsin on Aug. 29, laying out his economic policies to combat high energy costs. He also floated the idea of free IVF treatment—one of a number of appeals he made to independent and undecided voters.
Israel and Hamas have agreed to three separate three-day pauses in fighting in specific areas of the Gaza Strip. This will allow over half a million children to get vaccinated against polio. No hostages are expected to be released during these pauses, however. NTD has the latest on the Israel–Hamas war.
