Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says he has been asked to be on the transition team if former President Donald Trump wins in November. He says he’s working to get the GOP’s presidential nominee elected, and has been asked to help pick the people running the government if Trump wins. Meanwhile, former Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard endorsed Trump on Monday.
SpaceX has delayed the launch of its Polaris Dawn mission until Aug. 28 due to a helium leak. Polaris Dawn will send four private astronauts farther out into space than any since the Apollo missions. They will attempt a high-risk spacewalk using new SpaceX-designed spacesuits. Later, SpaceX will help NASA bring back the two astronauts stranded aboard the International Space Station.
Russia says Ukrainian forces have tried to attack another border region, this time in the area near Belgorod. Meanwhile, Russian missiles and drone strikes continued to hit Ukraine for a second day after Russia launched one of the largest airborne attacks since the war began. More than 100 drones and missiles were launched over more than half of Ukraine on Sunday night and into Monday.
