NTD Good Morning Full Broadcast (Aug. 13)

Live Chat

Elon Musk hosted a conversation with former President Donald Trump on the former’s X social media platform on Monday night. Musk said a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack caused the conversation to start late. DDoS attacks are attempts to block or disrupt servers, networks, or websites by overwhelming them with traffic. Musk said the attack illustrates the amount of opposition to hearing what Trump has to say. He said he wants voters who are still undecided to be able to hear Trump talk in a conversation. The two men discussed would-be assassins, government policy, border security, and censorship, among other things, for roughly two hours. Meanwhile, the FBI says it has launched an investigation into a reported hacking attempt on Trump’s campaign.

Police are investigating a break-in at Trump’s campaign office in Ashburn, Virginia, on Sunday night. A local sheriff said his office is determined to identify the suspected burglar from surveillance images. The sheriff stated investigators also want to know what might have been taken from the building—or left behind.

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s campaign has been denied ballot access in New York. A judge ruled his ballot access petition invalid on Aug. 12. The Clear Choice Political Action Committee, a group of Democratic-aligned voters, filed the lawsuit. The group argued that the residence Kennedy listed on his New York ballot nomination wasn’t correct, and said he lives in California. This comes after Kennedy announced on Aug. 11 that he had enough signatures to get on the ballot in every state.
