Following a meeting Wednesday, the House Ethics Committee announced that it has failed to reach an agreement on releasing a report regarding its investigation into former Congressman Matt Gaetz, who was tapped by President-elect Donald Trump to be the next attorney general. The committee is scheduled to revisit the matter on Dec. 5.
Jose Ibarra, the illegal immigrant from Venezuela convicted of murdering Laken Riley while she was jogging, was sentenced Wednesday to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Judge Patrick Haggard found Ibarra guilty on 10 charges, including one count of malice murder, three counts of felony murder, and other offenses, such as kidnapping, aggravated assault with intent to rape, and tampering with evidence.
