President-elect Donald Trump endorsed House Speaker Mike Johnson as Johnson prepares for what is expected to be another contentious speakership race this week. Trump said on social media that Johnson “will do the right thing.”
Former President Jimmy Carter’s state funeral is scheduled for Jan. 9, following his passing at the age of 100. President Joe Biden will deliver the eulogy at the Washington National Cathedral. He has also declared Jan. 9 a national day of mourning.
