A push to change Nebraska to a winner-take-all system within the electoral college has failed. Unlike almost all other states, Nebraska splits its electoral college votes. So some could go to Vice President Kamala Harris and some to former President Donald Trump.
If Republicans had succeeded in changing the law, it would have almost guaranteed Trump an electoral vote that will now remain up for grabs. And believe it or not, that one vote could make all the difference.
