The New York Times appears to be joining the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in its attacks against the spiritual practice Falun Gong.
On Aug. 16, the newspaper ran a piece dismissing evidence that the CCP is engaged in the crime of killing Falun Gong practitioners by harvesting their organs for sale. Larry Liu, deputy director at the Falun Dafa Information Center, tells NTD that the evidence of this crime is unequivocal, listing a number of expert bodies that have reached this conclusion.
The Times also ran a disparaging piece on Shen Yun Performing Arts, choosing only to interview disgruntled employees, says Liu.
Shen Yun is a classical Chinese dance company started by Falun Gong practitioners in the United States and has been a prime target of the CCP, facing various forms of interference and sabotage. Its performances, under the tag line “China before communism,” seek to portray authentic Chinese culture. Some of its dance pieces also depict the persecution of Falun Gong.
