After the Democrats lost to President-elect Donald Trump, their party is looking for a new path forward. The race for chairman of the Democratic National Committee kicked off this week with former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley throwing his hat in the ring. He resigned from his role as Social Security Administration Commissioner to be the first contestant in the competition for this key Democratic Party role.
