Video footage recorded on Friday in Cove Creek, North Carolina, shows a quick-moving mudslide caused by Hurricane Helene making its way inland near Asheville in Buncombe County in the west of the state.

Rescuers are searching for survivors in the mountains of western North Carolina days after Hurricane Helene’s remnants caused catastrophic damage across the Southeast. The death toll on Tuesday stood at nearly 140 people, with many more still missing.
