The “hush money” trial of former President Donald Trump began on Monday. Attorney Neama Rahmani says both the defense and the prosecution will sort through hundreds of potential jurors to find twelve.
Judge Juan Merchan ruled on Monday the jury will not see the infamous “Access Hollywood” video, but Mr. Rahmani says it doesn’t prove any facts in the case. He says the prosecution has a novel legal theory in its argument that President Trump’s business records covered up an unlawful campaign contribution to his 2016 presidential campaign, which was how the state pushed a misdemeanor of falsifying business records to a felony.
