James Turgal, vice president of Global Cyber Risk and Board Relations for Optiv and former executive assistant director of the Information and Technology Branch at the FBI, spoke with NTD about the FBI’s reported ongoing investigation of suspected hacking attempts by Iran of a long-time friend and adviser to former President Trump and three staffers on the Biden-Harris campaign. Turgal discussed Iran’s possible motives for the hacking, how political campaigns can protect against foreign actors targeting U.S. political candidates and elections, and the biggest cyber security threat currently facing the United States.
