Unique Republican presidential nomination contests are coming up in Nevada this week, with Nikki Haley running in the GOP’s primary election, and former President Donald Trump in the caucuses.
NTD spoke to Jeff Crouere, a political analyst and a TV and radio host, who said the reason why candidate Nikki Haley is not running in the state’s caucuses—the only contest that matters for choosing the state’s GOP delegates—is to score a victory, of sorts, in the primary. This is because the Nevada caucuses will be dominated by supporters of former President Donald Trump.
Mr. Crouere said that Ms. Haley is likely hoping to build momentum ahead of the primary in South Carolina, her home state, where she currently trails President Trump in polling.
