French Teachers Say They Self-Censor Over Safety Concerns

French teachers are increasingly self-censoring on sensitive topics like religion due to safety concerns. A recent survey shows that half of them no longer feel secure in schools, especially following the murders in recent years of teachers Samuel Paty and Dominique Bernard. The French government is working to strengthen legal protections and address inappropriate student behavior to better support the country’s teachers.
