Dollar General will improve safety protocols in stores and pay $12 million in penalties in a sweeping settlement with the Department of Labor. The case comes after allegations of the discount chain’s allowing employees to work in stores with unsafe storage protocols, blocked fire exits and fire extinguishers, and blocked electrical panels.
