This year’s Senate elections are set to be an intense battle over the balance of power in the upper chamber—impacting the legislation Senators vote on and the nominations for judicial and executive positions.

To speak with us about this, we have Bart Marcois, president of Marcois Partners International Corporation and a former presidential campaign policy advisor.

Mr. Marcois highlighted the Democrats’ vulnerability, with numerous incumbents up for reelection—including several in states favorable to Republicans. West Virginia, in particular, appears a likely win for the GOP due to Gov. Jim Justice’s popularity.

Mr. Marcois said Montana could also produce a surprise, with Republican Tim Sheehy challenging incumbent Democratic Sen. Jon Tester.

Ohio’s race may hinge on the Republican nominee’s alignment with former President Donald Trump. Mr. Marcois emphasized that Senate outcomes could significantly shape national policies, where a potential Republican-led government could prove instrumental in reducing government size and tackling the soaring national debt.
