Chinese Communist Party leader Xi Jinping proposed the Belt and Road infrastructure Initiative in 2013. Since then, the project has influenced more than half of the world’s population, according to Chinese state media outlet Global Times.
One example is its cross-continental train service. The route plays an important role in enhancing trade between China and Europe—including in the automotive sector. Driven by the trend, many Chinese tech companies have opened factories in Poland, Hungary, the Netherlands, and other locations in Europe in recent years.
