Over 100 policemen armed with submachine guns and over 20 armored vehicles have started patrolling a city 120 miles northwest of Beijing, 24 hours a day. Authorities say they’re ”fighting street crime.” But the city hasn’t had any serious crimes or terrorist attacks that would justify such a presence.
Some netizens believe that the Chinese Communist Party is trying to stop people from rioting.
One netizen wrote: “It’s a shameless regime, the people under its rule live like pigs, and the rulers are still always afraid of they’ll rebel. It just shows they aren’t able to govern the country and know they have no right to do it either.
