The number of cattle in the United States is at its lowest level since the 1950s. Ranchers are facing challenges like droughts and high production costs, in addition to difficulties financing loans as interest rates reach highs not seen in generations. The economic travails have forced many to sell off their herds.

NTD speaks to Kevin Stocklin, a business reporter for The Epoch Times, who says these shortages are hitting consumers in the form of high beef prices at the grocery store. However, he also said that the shortages are likely to increase in the coming years.
