Ben Carson, secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under former President Donald Trump, spoke about policing and sex education.
On racial motivations for shootings, Carson said, “What we have to do is be honest and say, yes, some of those occasions occur because there are some bad apples and there are some people who do inappropriate things, but when you go and you pick a few of those cases and you try to blow them up and make it seem like that’s what’s going on with everybody, that’s not really fair. The vast majority of police officers are very fair.”
Regarding sex education being taught in schools, Carson said, “It is vitally important that parent groups, that communities get involved and understand what’s being taught.”
