Bach Original transcription – Allegro Assai from Violin Sonata in C BWV 1005
“This is Bach at his joyful, exuberant best! I’ve loved playing the unaccompanied violin and cello works on the piano for many years. I have performed the complete C major Sonata many times, and included it in my all-Bach US debut recital at the Newport Music Festival, RI. Unlike Bach piano transcriptions by romantic composers, I have deliberately confined myself to playing the original notes, adding nothing else.” says Daniel Martyn Lewis.
