The battle is on for Atlanta, Georgia, and its surrounding areas, as the campaigns of Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump make multiple stops there. The city’s suburbs and exurbs shifted to the Democrat candidate a combined 10 points from the 2016 to the 2020 presidential elections. That equates to well over an eighth of a million more votes that President Joe Biden got over Hillary Clinton against Trump. That is much more than the 12,000 or so votes the state was decided by last election. So red counties from Hall to Spalding and blue counties from Gwinnett to Henry are important to watch on election night to see where the race is headed, and their outcome could determine who goes to the White House.
