Two popular Girl Scout cookie flavors will be retired later this year.
On Jan. 7, the Girl Scouts announced that fans of Girl Scout S’mores and Toast-Yay! cookies will have only this season to purchase them.
“Discontinuing Toast-Yay! and Girl Scout S’mores may lead to something new and delicious,” a spokesperson from the Girl Scouts shared. The organization said that it regularly evaluates its cookie lineup to make room for new flavors, though no new cookie flavors were added for the 2025 Girl Scout cookie season as of now.
The decision to retire these two flavors follows the discontinuation of the short-lived but popular Raspberry Rally cookie in 2023.
This year, Girl Scout cookie enthusiasts can still enjoy classics like Thin Mints, Samoas (Caramel deLites), Peanut Butter Patties (Tagalongs), Adventurefuls, Caramel Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter Sandwich (Do-si-dos), Lemonades, Lemon-Ups, Toffee-tastic, and Trefoils.
Cookie names may vary depending on their location. According to the Girl Scouts, “recipes and ingredients may differ slightly” between the organization’s two bakers, Little Brownie Bakers and ABC Bakers.
“Whether the package says Peanut Butter Patties or Tagalongs, or Samoas or Caramel deLites, the cookies are similarly delicious,” the Girl Scouts website says.
The availability of the soon-to-be-retired Toast-Yay! and Girl Scout S’mores flavors will depend on the buyer’s region. To confirm availability, customers can contact their local Girl Scout Council.
Running from January through April, Girl Scout cookie season is already underway, although exact dates may vary by location.
Beginning Feb. 21, customers will also have the option to order cookies directly through the Girl Scout Cookie Finder page online.
“Girl Scout Cookie season is about so much more than selling the iconic cookies people know and love,” the Girl Scouts USA Chief Revenue Officer said in a news release. “The sweet success of each sale is a testament to how much girls can change the world when they put their minds to it.”
“All proceeds from cookie sales stay with local councils and troops to fuel inspiring experiences for girls throughout the year, including camps, amazing trips, service projects and much more.”
