U.S. National Security Council Spokesman Admiral John Kirby said at a press briefing at the White House in Washington on Tuesday that the United States has been discussing a potential new humanitarian pause in the war between Israel and the Hamas terrorist organization, as well as a potential hostage release deal.
Indicating that the aim was to have all of the hostages released and humanitarian aid sent into Gaza, Mr. Kirby said he was reluctant to refer to the “ongoing discussions” as “negotiations” when pressed if there was any hold-up in the talks.
