Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Symphony No. 41, in C Major, K 551 “Jupiter.”

Allegro vivacious (00:00)

Andante cantabile (07:41)

Menuetto (Allegretto) (15:18)

Molto allegro (18:49)

The music we performed is very complex and ingenious. In the finale of Mozart’s last symphony, “Jupiter,” there is a five-voice fugato in which the five main themes of the symphony are carried out. The basis of the finale is the theme built on …
four notes from the “Missa Pange lingua” by Josquin des Prez, a Renaissance composer (1455). At that time, composers glorified the Lord with music. This four-note theme stands for Hallelujah! So let this music become a prayer for Ukraine in such a difficult time!
