Longtime anchor Neil Cavuto is leaving Fox News after nearly three decades. Cavuto announced his departure during his final broadcast Thursday afternoon.

“This is my final show,” Cavuto stated at the end of his “Coast to Coast” show, thanking his staff for all their hard work and his loyal viewers for tuning in throughout the years.

Cavuto also said that the decision to leave was his own despite a “generous” offer to stay.

“I’m not leaving journalism, just here,” the veteran journalist added.

In an emailed statement to NTD, Fox News Media praised his journalism and confirmed his exit from the network.

“Neil Cavuto’s illustrious career has been a master class in journalism and we’re extremely proud of his incredible 28-year run with FOX News Media,” the statement read. His programs have defined business news and set the standard for the entire industry. We wish him a heartfelt farewell and all the best on his next chapter.”

Cavuto has been the face of “Your World” on weekdays afternoons since the show launched in 1996. He also hosted “Cavuto Coast to Coast” on weekdays at noon eastern time on sister station Fox Business Network and “Cavuto Live” at 10 a.m. eastern time on Saturdays.

Throughout the years, the now 66-year-old journalist stayed on the job despite various health issues, including multiple sclerosis, so-called long COVID, and heart surgery.

Cavuto’s departure comes as the network just announced it’s capping off the year with the “highest audience share in nearly a decade,” according to a statement by Fox News Media.

It remains unclear who will replace him.
