The United States, South Korea, and Japan came together for one of their largest-ever naval exercises this week. A U.S. aircraft carrier is joining the event aimed at upping deterrence and counter-tactics on North Korea. The country is nuclear-armed and poses missile and submarine threats.
Leader Kim Jong Un called to change the country’s constitution on Monday to abandon the idea of peace with the South and labeling it an enemy.
Senior diplomats from the United States, South Korea, and Japan are slated to meet in Seoul to discuss the matter.
